A rare lobster specimen was saved from a restaurant in Arkansas before it became a dinner, according to reports. The Red lobster was not in the usual color, but in bright orange.

The researchers aimed to study the extremely rare bright-looking lobsters, which could appear in one in 30 million.

People did not expect to uncover the rare lobster. The unusual color is associated with genetic mutations, reports showed.

Red lobsters. A recent report discovered a unique species of Red Lobsters in a restaurant in Arkansas. A rare-looking orange lobster emerged, which is considered a one-in-30 million possibility. 

According to Newsweek and Fox 28 Savannah reports, a restaurant in Hot Springs, Arkansas, saved the rare orange lobster. The said lobster is believed to be seven years old.

The emergence of the said lobster is extremely rare, and scientists were looking forward to seeing it. Immediately, the unique and bright lobster will become an essential specimen for scientists.

The rare find is expected to be sent to Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Professor Markus Frederich explained that discovered lobster's rare orange color is due to genetic mutation.

Frederich is from the University of New England's marine science.

Recently, CNN reported that a rare orange lobster was found in Maine's Casco Bay. The report said that the lobster was five to seven years old.

Professor Frederich added that mutations in the said lobsters are considered rare, noting that diet is an additional factor.

But this is not the first time a rare-colored lobster have beeb found.

In 2021, USA Today, a cotton-candy-looking lobster color was caught on Maine's coast. The report said the coloring is considered one in 100 million chance.

People can see different colorations in lobsters. According to the Smithsonian's Ocean, lobsters can have a rainbow of colors.

The report explained that lobsters can turn red when they are cooked. In general, the lobsters people can commonly see are mottled brown.

In addition, astanxanthin plays a significant role in the lobsters' colorations. The American Chemical Society said lobsters consume red pigment that can appear in the shell.

According to NOAA Fisheries, the report said there are two lobster species in the U.S.: the American Lobster or true lobster and the spiny lobster.

American lobsters thrive in parts of North Carolina, North America and Newfoundland. Most of the lobsters in the U.S. can be found in portions of Maine, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

While lobsters look colorful, the report said their blood is colorless.
