According to AccuWeather's report, Cyclone Biparjoy is said to be 2023's first named storm in the Arabian Sea.

In the latest forecast, the report said that Cyclone Biparjoyy managed to intensify and reach sustained winds of 160 mph (257 km/h) and 95 mph (314 km/h) wind gusts.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press (AP) reported that the said Cyclone is likely to unload in the following areas:

  • The western state of Gujarat in India
  • Southern Sindh Province in Pakistan

The forecast added that Cyclone Biparyoy could possibly make landfall this week (Thursday).

The AccuWeather forecast explained that India Meteorological Department said the Cyclone is forecast to be an extremely severe storm.

Furthermore, the weather forecast noted that the storm is projected in parts of Karachi, Pakistan and Gujarat, India.

According to recent reports, evacuations were underway for the possible affected people or areas in Pakistan and India.

The report said about 80,000 people were ordered to evacuate in the province of Sindh.

Meanwhile, the Times of India reported that 12,000 could be evacuated in the Kutch and Dwarka due to Cyclone Biparjoy.

The report noted that airports were preparing in Pakistan, as the affected provinces were on high alert.

Meanwhile, the AP report explained that climate change could significantly develop cyclones or storms in the Arabian Sea.

In the report, scientist Raghu Murtugudde at the University of Maryland said that the oceans became warmer, making it more favorable to the development of cyclones.

Furthermore, the report noted that the cyclones from the Arabian Sea intensified between 1982 and 2019.
