Local reports said that a young and playful giraffe was found unresponsive and dead in a park in New York City after its neck became stuck in an enclosure gate.

Visitors and zoo authorities were saddened after discovering the tragic incident involving the young giraffe

Young and endangered giraffe

According to CBS News, the giraffe was known as 'Parker' at the Seneca Park Zoo located in Rochester, NYC.

When authorities knew about Parker's situation, experts immediately tried to save the 6-year-old giraffe; however, he was unresponsive.

According to Seneca Park Zoo, the tragic death of Parker was considered unforeseen and unprecedented, adding that they did not have the same reports when an animal was stuck in a gate enclosure.

The zoo authorities explained that the gate structure was installed in 2018, following the guidelines for giraffe enclosures.

The report added that all three giraffes are in good condition, and the zoo would closely monitor the well-being of the giraffes after one of their family members died.

Ultimately, the zoo encouraged tourists and visitors to remember the good life of Parker by sharing images or videos on their social media accounts.

Endangered Masai Giraffe Species

According to CBS news, Parker is an endangered Masai giraffe species. Visitors came to visit parker in 2018. The park has been caring for parkers and other animals in the zoo.

Furthermore, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden explained that Masai Giraffe is known as Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi. Their species are considered a large subspecies of giraffes in wildlife and zoos.

They thrive in parts of Africa, especially in Tanzania and Southern Kenya.

They could live up to 13 years. Their height could reach 13 to 17fht, with weight reaching up to 4,250 lbs.

Meanwhile, the Oregon State University - College of Agricultural Science explained that the species of Masai Giraffe has noticeable brown patches.

Oregon State University added that the said giraffes have suffered from population decline, reaching about 30% in the last 30 years.

Conservation and protection efforts are significant for the said giraffe species, especially since they are hunting targets.

They could also suffer from habitat loss due to the commercialization of the industrialization of their areas.

Missing Flaco the owl in New York City

Recently, Nature World News and Associated Press (AP) reported that a rare Eurasian eagle- owl escaped from a cage at Central Park Zoo in NYC.

Authorities tried to catch Flaco, but it was not easy as the bird evaded. As a result, bird watchers in the city have been helping track Flaco's location and help authorities to recapture it.

The report explained that it would become difficult for Flaco to survive because it had no hunting skills after the captivity.

Furthermore, experts noted that the rare eagle would likely starve.

In the eBird's report, the Eurasian Eagle-Owl is known as one of the largest owls hunting in the wild.
