Chances of Snow, Winter Storms in U.S Could Unfold During Meteorological Spring, Forecasts Show

The weather forecast said that waves of cold air, snow and possible snow storms would unload before the beginning of meteorological spring.

With almost a month before the spring season, snow lovers could anticipate chances of snow weather outlook in the final days of meteorological winter.

The meteorological winter became challenging after severe weather risks unfolded in the Midwest, Northeast, California and the South.

The Associated Press (A.P.) reported that the ice storm struck the South, especially Texas.

Texans were left miserable after the power outages amidst the freezing temperatures.

There is much optimism that snowy conditions and snow storms will unfold. According to AccuWeather's latest weather forecast, a surge of cold and wintry outlook is expected.

Recently, AccuWeather and CNN reported the blast of arctic air and the polar vortex in the Northeast  brought more troublesome weather.

The freezing conditions and challenging cold resulted in road hazards and widespread travel disruptions.

Noted as brutal cold air, residents in the Northeast and New England felt the brunt of extreme temperatures during the first week of February.

The peak of cold and temperatures drop raised health concerns due to prolonged exposure to cold weather.

In New York City, January's forecast noted that the state suffered from an over 300-day snowless streak.

The warm and rainy conditions contributed to less measurable snow.

However, NYC finally recorded measurable snowfall in the first week of February, including in Boston.

January and February are considered the coldest and snowiest months.

However, forecasts explained that motorists and residents could still anticipate winter storms before or during the first days of meteorological spring.

In April, Plains and Midwest can anticipate more blasts of cold air.

Tornado risks and severe thunderstorms in the South

AccuWeather explained that there could be a low chance of tornado outbreaks and severe thunderstorms during the meteorological spring, especially in Gulf Coast, Plains, Central and Southern U.S.

• Based on the severe weather risks outlook (March to May 2023), high risks would unfold in Kansas City and Memphis. Meanwhile, a moderate risk is expected in Dallas, Minneapolis, Chicago and Houston.
• From March to May 2023, flood risks would unleash in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Omaha, Mississippi and Atlanta.

The country is no stranger to severe weather risks and the strongest hurricanes that caused widespread damage and casualties.

According to Insider, the Miami Hurricane is considered one of the strongest extreme weather events in the U.S.

On September 11, 1926, a powerful hurricane hit Miami, leaving 372 casualties, 6,000 injuries, and 164 billion in estimated damages.

The cost of extreme weather events resulted in billions of dollars. According to CNN and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), weather disasters cost a whopping $165 billion in 2022.

 The country has suffered from prolonged droughts, rounds of storms and hurricanes.
