More about the amazing seals

According to NOAA Fisheries, seals can adapt to challenging environments from underwater and catch their food sources.

  • The population of seals is protected to ensure that it would not suffer from decline. NOAA explained that the seals are covered and protected by Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act.

In New England, the report said visitors or tourists could find unique seal breeds: gray and harbor seals.

They mostly spend time on land. But being semi-aquatic, they can swim and look for possible food for their pups.

Being able to adapt, NOAA added that seals are good at knowing the drinking water they need. Although their ears would not be noticeable, seals have sharp hearing systems.

Furthermore, seals protect and nurse their pups, mostly staying close to one another. Despite many seals on the coasts, mother seals can find their children based on their scent.
