The latest weather forecast said that people in North Texas would expect a sharp temperature cooldown this week as relentless storms and severe weather conditions unloaded in California and West Coast.

The severe weather conditions on the West Coast recorded unabated heavy rain and damaging winds, causing evacuations due to flooding concerns.

The second week of the month would be chaotic as the persistent rain continued.

The National Prediction Center's recent advisory explained that the heavy atmospheric rivers are expected to unload on Tuesday.

The forecast warned widespread flooding and mountain snow could unleash in central California and western Nevada.

People near the coasts in portions of California should observe the river conditions and potential evacuations.

Meanwhile, the NWS advisory added that power outages are also reported.

North Texas Weather

On the other hand, the moisture-packed storm in California and West Coast will not affect the weather outlook in North Texas.

According to NBC 5 weather report (January 9), the storm in California could bring a sharp cooldown in North Texas, noting the drop in temperatures this week.

The weather prediction explained that California's storm is not expected to bring rain to Texas due to the blockade in the Central, Southern Plains, and Rocky Mountains.

The report added that the Rocky Mountains would play a significant role in blocking to disrupting the relentless storm in California, bringing a low chance of rain in North Texas.

Furthermore, the weather prediction showed that the blast of the Pacific Cold Front and West Coast storm would contribute to unfolding cooler temperatures in North Texas.

On the other hand, the previous forecast in Texas last week experienced a milder to colder pattern.

According to Dallas Morning News, last week's weather was windy and full of sunshine. The cold front contributed to the cooler weather.

Pacific Cold Front

The forecast added that the Pacific cold front helped with the cooler air in North Texas until mid-month.

In addition, the weather outlook this week will experience from partly cloudy to sunny, with a low chance of rain.

The forecast said the weather could be sunny with breezy and mild weather starting Wednesday.

  • On Thursday, the forecast showed that there could be a low chance of rain showers.
  • From Friday to Sunday, the weather would be partly cloudy.

Observing the weather conditions and forecasts for motorists is essential, especially if they plan to travel to California or the South side of the country with reported severe thunderstorms.

Those planning for travel and outdoor activities should expect sunny weather conditions with cooler air.

Although the chance of rain is slightly too low, it is best to bring an umbrella.

Meanwhile, portions of East and Southeast Texas could anticipate chances of rain showers.

However, the weather will not be severe. Residents and motorists could witness the sunny and milder weather this January.
