With only days before the end of December, the latest weather forecast showed that portions of the Southern U.S. could expect rainy conditions and milder weather this week.

After the Christmas season, many residents and travelers in the Southern United States could look forward to the New Year.

Recently, many Americans in portions of the U.S. suffered from a major winter storm that brought extremely cold conditions and blizzard conditions.

The weather became chaotic for many travelers even before the Christmas season.

Rain conditions and milder weather

According to AccuWeather's latest forecast on December 27,  Southern U.S. could expect rounds of rain and thunderstorm activities.

Residents in the Southern U.S. are advised to stay updated with the weather, especially since rain showers could emerge starting Wednesday.

It is best to bring an umbrella and raincoat protection as the weather could unload in wintry conditions.

AccuWeather's Wednesday Outlook showed that dry weather conditions could unfold in Little Rock, Jackson, New Orleans, Montgomery, Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Tampa and Miami.

On the other hand, the same locations could expect rain until Thursday.

On Gulf Coast, the forecast said that rainfall could amount to one to two inches could emerge.

Meanwhile, the report said that portions of southwestern Louisiana, Houston and southeastern Texas could expect rain showers in the middle of the week.

The weather could be right enough for many Americans in the Southeastern U.S. planning to buy for the New Year and Holiday.

The forecast added that the weather starting Friday could notice wet conditions.

According to AccuWeather, rain and thunderstorms could emerge starting Friday until Sunday, affecting portions of Jacksonville, Montgomery, Atlanta, Raleigh, Nashville and New Orleans.

On the other hand, travelers and motorists could expect slow to delayed travel in portions of New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte at the end of the week.

While the wet conditions in the Southern U.S. would be ideal for many Americans, anticipated milder weather this week after experiencing extremely cold weather due to a major winter storm.

The blast of cold air brought cold weather in the United States, which is expected to continue until the end of December.

The extremely cold weather could result in cold-related health risks.

As a result, the weather agencies warned of potential frostbite and hypothermia.

In Buffalo, New York, the weather report said that many residents in the area suffered from heavy lake-effect snow and freezing conditions.

The heavy snow resulted in widespread travel delays and slowed commutes.

Although the severe winter weather is forecasted to weaken this week, the report added that the weather could still unload cold temperatures to freezing conditions.

Previous weather forecasts warned that the cold weather conditions could result in road hazards.

Those with travel plans next year should book earlier to avoid delays and cancellations due to potentially challenging severe weather.
