With just over a week before the much-awaited Thanksgiving, many have been preparing their travel itinerary. It is an event to meet old friends and families and bond together before Christmas.

The first week of November started with reports of chilly rain, lake-effect snow, heavy snow, and blizzards. Meteorologists warned that it could affect Thanksgiving travel, causing travel delays and hazards.

Forecasts suggested that people traveling for this week should prepare ahead, anticipating the severe weather conditions and how they could impact the travel. In fact, some portions of the United States could record good to poor travel conditions starting November 23, 2022.

According to AccuWeather's latest weather forecast, the potential developing storm affecting portions of the Eastern United States could bring snow, heavy rain, and gusty winds starting next week

The report noted that people in the Northeast and Midwest should also look into the wintry weather affecting travel delays starting next week.

Based on Tuesday's travel outlook, AccuWeather showed that good weather conditions and travel could be expected in portions of Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Houston.

Meanwhile, Wednesday's outlook showed that portions of Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, and New York would still have good travel outlooks. Meanwhile, Houston could have a fair weather outlook for travel.

On Thanksgiving, AccuWeather's forecast revealed that Chicago, Atlanta, and Houston could expect rain showers. Meanwhile, dry and milder weather conditions could emerge in Denver, Los Angeles, and Portland.

Portions of New York that experienced heavy lake-effect snow would have chilly weather.

On the other hand, weather forecasts still monitored the storm's development this coming week. AccuWeather noted that the storm could strengthen as it approaches the Atlantic coast.

Lake-effect Snow

Recently, forecasts noted that heavy lake-effect snow affects portions of New York and nearby communities. The report noted that heavy snow would be expected, causing travel delays, cancellation of classes, and travel restrictions.

The report explained that unimportant travels during the impact of heavy snow should be avoided. The lake-effect snow would bring heavy snow, gusty winds, and lightning.

As you prepare for the coming Thanksgiving next week, it is best to plan your itinerary, especially if it involves outdoor travel or activities. As mentioned in the report, the impact of the developing storm could bring heavy rains and snow to nearby cities.
