Man, 91, Goes Into Shock After Mistakenly Getting 2 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in a Day

According to news report a 91-year-old man in Ohio went into shock after he mistakenly received  two COVID-19 vaccine shots in a single day. The man got a third shot of the vaccine only four hours after his second. 

Victor Smith got his first dose on January 22nd, though he became exhausted from the dose - a general side effect - according to WLWT local news outlet,  also he suffered a fall.

Victor who is an amputee was taken to the hospital and then transmitted to an Ohio rehab facility in Hamilton: Jamestowne Rehabilitation.

Victor Received Another Shot Four Hours Later

Victor remained at the facility on February 25th when he was planned to receive his second dose at the vaccination county site. His daughter Dawn Smith Theodore explained: "They transferred him to receive his shot, when he returned, I spoke to him, he was better." 

That exact day, patients at his clinic rehabilitation were also given their vaccine doses. There was a misunderstanding between patients with similar names at the rehabilitation clinic and Victor received yet another shot of the Corona vaccine only four hours after the second. 

According to recent reports, that same day patients at his rehabilitation clinic were also being vaccinated.

There was a mixup between patients with similar names at the rehab facility, and Smith received yet another dose of the COVID-19 vaccine - his third - just four hours after the second.  The Corona vaccination planned for mRNA vaccines requests only two doses of the vaccine given three or four weeks interval.

Revelation of the Matter 

Theodore explained: "My dad said, 'I received two shots of vaccines, I imagine a town firefighter dropped by [to the rehab clinic] and said they have a dose for Smith, and the nurse answered "Victor Smith?" And he responded "YES" so they told him the number of the room" her dad was. 

Theodore revealed after the third shot, Victor's body was in shock, and he started to suffer low blood pressure. "They quite told me how much he was not going to make it." But luckily, Victor's case improved and he is getting better. 

In an assertion to WLWT, Community First Solutions, and Hamilton City, which runs the Jamestowne facility, explained a that episode happened when a HamiltonCity residents accidentally got two shots of the Corona vaccine on the exact day. Jamestowne staff  then noticed the clues of distress on the patient and instantly reacted.

Examination of the Case

The country fire department and Jamestowne, which distributes vaccines for the clinic, are now examining the case, the report state: "Our hearts are with the victim and his family as he continues to get better." . 

Though with a lot of distinct vaccines in production, certainly, questions are going to be asked, such as can I still get a shot if I have been in a trial testing other versions? And if I have had the virus - can I still get another shot? A fundamental perception of immunology can resolve all these questions.

All coronavirus vaccines attempt in generating an immune reaction to protein the virus required to enter the cells. 

Whether this is by utilizing a non-risky virus containing the protein that stimulates SARS-CoV-2, but is not a replicate, or by utilizing a messenger RNA (the genetic code for those proteins) the result is still the same.
