In the world of sports, lucky charms do exist. But it looks like superstitions have no room in today's time. In a recent game of the San Jose Sharks, a black cat crossed their bench. Naturally, many speculated that a black cat crossing your path means bad luck. Fortunately for the hockey team, the black cat gave them a win instead of a sour fate.

During a hometown game against the Nashville Predators at the SAP Center, the 1st games of the Western Conference, a black cat managed to get into the hockey field and ran directly towards the San Jose Shark's Bench.

The Sharks fans and the team aren't oblivious about the superstition about a black cat and bad luck and they had no choice but to hope that it isn't true.

Huffington Post quoted NHL, they said "The small cat emerged from a door near the red line, and scampered down the ice by the home team's bench and out another door near the goal line."

From the video posted by NHL, the creepy-looking black cat emerged from the benches and ran directly towards the San Jose Sharks before the game. It has ignited some panic towards some of the fans who didn't fail to notice the small animal running on the field of ice.

The cat ran across the field for about 20 seconds to the amusement of people anticipating the game.

The NHL even posted the rogue black cat on their official Twitter page, a proof that even professionals have heard about the superstitious bad luck cliché.

But the black cat did not bring any bad luck to the San Jose Sharks because despite the fact that it sashayed in front of their bench, the Sharks managed to win against the Predators with a score of 5-2 proving that the black-cat-bad-luck saying is just a superstition.

However, the Nashville Predators might think otherwise.
