Ever dream of charging your phone in a more eco-friendly way? Now, that dream becomes a reality through Bioo Lite, a new technology that lets you charge your smartphone through photosynthesis from any common house plant.

According to Live-Smart, Bioo Lite is a potted plant that produces power for charging by harnessing the energy produced by plants during photosynthesis. Bioo Lite looks like a normal potted plant that you can find in any home, the only difference is that it has a 5V 1A USB charging port attached to a biological battery inside the pot, where all of the accumulated energy is funneled for instant use. The said USB port is also disguised as a rock so that it won't look too out of place.

Arkyne Technologies says that a single potted plant can produce 3 to 40 watts of power depending on the plant and how the owner takes care of it, which will enable three charging sessions per day. The Bioo Lite also has a long lifespan and can last at least five years.

However, if you're worried that this technology might harm the plant, fret not. Live-Smart says that Bioo Lite is completely safe for the plant as it only uses the spare or extra energy after photosynthesis.

The company says that Bioo Lite aims to provide a new solution for current and future environmental and energy issues through the use of plants and green spaces, which can be found everywhere.

"Bioo is offering a new point of view: to simply transform these huge green spaces to fulfill our energy needs with the creation of a new renewable source," Arkyne Techonologies said on their Indiegogo page.

Bioo Lite is approximately priced at $135 per plant and estimated to be available by December this year.
