Contact Lens Camera, Sony's Latest Wearable Innovation

Sony takes a big leap in image and video recording as they take steps ii patenting their own contact lens camera.

Sony's most recent innovation is an evolution to what Samsung and Google patented. Finally a camera that does not only capture images and records precious moments, "Contact Lens And Storage Medium" offers a lot of features way ahead of the previous series.

It was earlier in April that these seven Japanese inventors from a Tokyo-based firm decided to file a patent for this latest novelty which aims to upgrade the image and video industry.

As per Techaeris, image stabilisation, autofocus, blur correction and zooming in and out are just some of this innovation's added control methods.

Not to mention its additional features such as imaging sensor, fully-developed imaging device and its own data storage and wireless communication module which allows you to directly save and transfer the captured images and recorded videos without the need of transferring data to another device before sharing.

Powered wirelessly though a built in antenna; this very tiny device is placed towards the border of the eye so as to avoid vague vision for the user. Images are captured through the user's pre-configured blinking. This device amazingly has the ability to identify normal blinks and capture images only through users' conscious blinking.

The storing of images and videos captured takes place as the eye closes. This contact lens camera is also built with a display unit with integrated lens for the user's image and information playback. Switching to display mode comes really easy through different eyelid movements, according to Forbes.

In 2012, Google filed a patent for the first ever camera built on a contact lens designed to capture images through the blinking of an eye. Four years later, Samsung came up with its own version of a contact lens camera matching the performance of Google's, as Daily Mail UK reported.
