Apple is one of the largest electronics-producing companies in the world. This year, Apple is firm in their resolve to help save the environment. They recently introduced Liam, an iPhone recycling robot. They have also partnered with WWF to launch Apps for Earth. For the 1st quarter of 2016, the company earned a total of $75.9 billion in revenue and sold a total of 74.779 million iPhones. With this shocking number comes the need to address the undeniable impact of discarded Apple items to the environment.

Liam, the iPhone recycling robot, was introduced to the public last month together with the launch of the latest iPhone and iPad, marking Apple's commitment to help save the earth. In a video released by the company, Apple discussed how Liam works. Within 11 seconds, the recycling robot can disassemble an iPhone. The robot then removes useful parts which can be recycled, such as the screws and sim card slots. Copper and lithium from the cameras and batteries are also collected so they can be reused again.

Apple said that true innovation means considering what happens to a product in every stage of its life cycle. That's why they are taking responsibility with what happens to an iPhone after it is no longer useful.

But Apple's commitment to saving the earth doesn't stop there. In a partnership with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), they launched Apps for Earth which aims to save the earth one app at a time.

This month, WWF will receive one hundred percent of the funds collected from participating apps. According to WWF "The 27 participating apps feature new content celebrating WWF's global conservation work in key focus areas: forests, oceans, fresh water, wildlife, food and climate."

Macworld listed the 27 participating apps as follows:
