Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, have been the subject of all media frenzy. The royal couple is currently in India for a seven-day royal tour of India and Bhutan. It is the first high-profile trip of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after the christening of Princess Charlotte, and it looks like the royal couple has had an exciting first day in India.

The Telegraph published official photos of their trip, showing Prince William and Duchess Kate's itinerary. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by a Bollywood-themed gala dinner at the Taj Palace Hotel.

On the first day, a very active and playful Kate was also seen showing her football skills. The royal couple also played cricket with Sachin Tendulkar.

1. Mumbai

Anyone who traveled to India should see Mumbai. Bollywood thrives in Mumbai. There are also various underground tours, which include a visit to the Elephanta and Bhaja caves. This is also the home of the famous "Slumdog Millionaire."

The royal couple met Bollywood stars in Mumbai. Prince William was quoted by ABC saying, "It has been a wonderful and colorful evening and a real treat to be welcomed to India in this way."

2. Taj Mahal

In February 1992, Princess Diana visited the famous Taj Mahal. Both Prince William and Kate Middleton are scheduled to visit the iconic site, too. The Taj Mahal, one of UNSECO's World Heritage Site, is tagged as a monument of love. Unesco described it as "an immense mausoleum of white marble, built it Agra between 161 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife".

The visit of Prince William and Kate is expected to boost the popularity of the structure benefitting India's tourism industry.

3. Gandhi Smriti in New Dhelhi

When in New Delhi, it is highly recommended to visit Gandhi Smitri. It is known as the sacred place where Mahatma Gandhi spent the last days of his life. According to the Gandhi Smriti's website, Gandhi lives in this house until January 1948.

Today, it is a popular tourist spot for those who want to commemorate the life of Gandhi. It was acquired by the government in 1973 and was turned into a public National Memorial in 1973.

4. Kaziranga National Park

The Kaziranga National Park is another UNESCO-recognized memorial in India. In 2005, a preservation study was conducted by UNESCO in order to fully preserve the park.

The Kaziranga National Park recently opened to the public in 2015. It is now the home of the famous Indian rhinoceros and is a known habitat for rare migratory birds. It is a must visit site in India especially now the royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, is set to visit the park during their royal tour of India.

5. Goa

Although Goa is not part of the royal couple's itinerary, it is good to note that India is also a home of luxurious and beautiful white sand beaches.
